Mindful Monday: Fresh

Hello beautiful, lovely, happy people!

How is the first few weeks of 2019 treating you? It’s been a bit up and down for me already in a few ways, but overall, I’m feeling pretty good about things so far. I’m finally done being sick – that stuck around far too long. And since The Husband had almost a full week off from work, our apartment is actually reasonably clean and organized. I’m enjoying that, but I also realize that I have to still stay on top of it.

Since I didn’t actually make a list of things to get done last week, other than to start on my goals for the year and for January in particular, I don’t have a nice little list to check off. And honestly, we didn’t do a whole lot over the last week. We spent New Year’s Eve at my parents house, we had our own little date night over the weekend and also went to watch one of my friends play basketball. I even feel super on top of things because we already pulled down the Christmas decorations and packed them all away. Yes, I’m going to be proud of that and I’m not ashamed of it!

Up and Coming
  • First up, track down some of the sheet music and fiction books that I thought were in a certain spot but apparently are not. *grumble*
  • Drag myself over to the DPS office, no matter how irritating it might be.
  • Visit my horse at least one time.
  • Organize my bookshelves.
  • Stick to the reasonably-healthy dinner plan I created for the week.
  • Make measurable progress on my world building project.
  • Look at homes for sale in our area.
  • Get back into my regular routine, including weekends, now that the holidays are finally over with.
  • Possibly think about other things that might get me out of a depressive rut that don’t include sunshine (because January does not equal sun).

If the rain finally holds off, I might actually get to ride my horse again. The ground has been miserable, the sky has been miserable and it’s not helping my mood lately. Sunshine and a good gallop would fix a multitude of mental problems for me.

Honestly, as long as I can get myself back into a routine, I’ll be happy about this week. It’s the simple things in life, right?
