2019 Goals: Quarter 1 Update

Hello gorgeous people, who I’m sure are very well balanced in their lives!

Of course, I’ve mentioned a whole lot in basically all my posts for March how off I’ve been recently, but regardless, I wanted to go ahead and write up a basic overview of how I’m doing with my goals for 2019. Obviously, not the greatest, but considering that during the first quarter of the year I also survived my first trimester of this pregnancy, I am 100% okay with less progress. And actually, there are several things that I’ve managed to do pretty well on!

Writing & Blogging

  • Publish 6 blog posts per month. January – 7, February – 3, March – 5.
  • Write up a recap of every time that I spend time with my horse. So far so good!
  • Work towards possibly publishing my fiction project, Donovan’s Quest. Making progress!
  • Win Nanowrimo and complete at least one of the Camp projects. Ha, well not yet!
  • Start turning my writing hobby into an extra income source.  So much research!

Creative Pursuits

  • Journal on a regular basis. So far… not great!
  • Handwrite more letters.  Same here, no progress! Too tired to care until now.
  • Complete the 2019 PopSugar Reading Challenge.  I started strong, now I need to get back into it again.
  • Spend time with my horse on a regular basis.  Just now starting to hope about this again!
  • Enjoy playing the piano again.  Actually yes! Not much, but I’ve had some fun.

Personal & Life Goals

  • Practice my mental strength in regards to working through anxiety and depressive episodes.  So far this year has been loads better. I’ve had low points, sure, but I’m not staying there as much.
  • Take my vitamins and get outside for some light exercise on a regular basis.  Definitely good on the vitamins, not so much on the exercise. Starting to though.
  • Cook at home more often than not.  Yes, even if I have to get the hubby to cook, we still stay home more often than not.
  • Go out for a date night twice a month.  Nope, but mostly because I’ve been sick.
  • Move out of the apartment situation.  We’re looking – still have time.
  • Refinance my car.  I’ve done my research, now I just have to do application stuff.
  • Pay off my student loans and medical bills.  Not even 25% yet. Other priorities.
  • Save X amount of money for the emergencies/future.  25% exactly! Right on track!
  • Visit another country in the spring.  Our flight is booked!
  • Take a weekend trip in the summer or fall.  There’s still plenty of time on this one 🙂

Yeah, not too shabby, once you factor in everything else in my life. Things are definitely picking up now anyways – my brain is actually functioning again, well enough to focus at work! I can get through an entire day without feeling completely exhausted or drained. I’m able to get out in the sunshine again. I’m not going to be arrogant and say that the next quarter is going to be super productive or anything like that, but I am feeling a lot better about everything and that’s a great attitude that I want to keep around.

Edit: since I originally set up this post, I went back through my list of goals for the year and made them a bit more concise and detailed and/or changed things around a bit to accommodate for the changes that babies bring with them!

Love and kindness!
