The Holidays are Coming…

Hello my darlings,

It’s been two months, almost to the day, since my last post. Life has been up and down in that time, with a lot of sideways thrown in for good measure. Right now it feels like the holiday season is barreling down at us with no sign of slowing down. Everyone told me that time goes by faster as you get older, but did you know they were right?! It’s terrifying. And the emotions and stress that come with the holidays don’t actually ease up either, so it becomes one stressful, scrambling race for time.

Life has been a mix of hectic and slow all at the same time. I’ve been job hunting for about three months now, had a few opportunities fall right out from under me, and a few possibilities in the works that I hope will come through soon. I was originally hoping to have things lined up by the time the holiday season came, but that wasn’t the case. The goal, however, is to be working full-time by the end of the year. All the hopes, prayers, crossed fingers, and good vibes on that front, if you please. The industry is crazy hard to break into, so we’ll see how things go.

In good news, though, I did finally graduate college! I’m officially a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing & English. SNHU was a fantastic school and I had the best experience over the last year and a half. They’ll be my first choice in the future if/when I decide to go for a graduate degree and I can’t recommend them enough as a online option.

Winding down the year feels like a comfort to me, for once. This year has included a lot of changes for me and my family, and while it has been overwhelming a good year, I think I’m ready for a new one. So I’m enjoying the prospect of soaking in the holiday cheer while making plans for next year. I’ll recap some things in a month or so again (hopefully by then I can announce a new job!) and we’ll see what 2021 holds! I hope to write here again before then, (maybe some fun book reviews) but with so much going on behind the scenes, it’s a little up in the air. In the meantime, I’ll be posting more on my Instagram page, so follow me there.

All the love and kindness in my heart,

Katharine Marie
